These got you drooling for sure! This is a take on Barefoot Contessa’s “Easy Sticky Buns” which are made with Pepperidge Farm’s frozen “Puff Pastry.” We all use this great little product for quick pastry desserts like Napoleons and Croissants but this is a really neat and easy way to create Sticky Buns, Cinnamon Buns or for that matter, any kind of your favorite breakfast bun treat.
This is how they look when ready for the oven. Simple, easy and fun. You can experiment with whatever is your favorite. Pecan Sticky Buns with Raisins is our favorite and add a little drizzle icing, oh my, takes my breath away!
Now for the recipe: I used Ina’s recipe with the exception of changing out the sugar to “Splenda” brown sugar; I toasted the Pecans so they were crispy, used a pinch of Nutmeg with the Cinnamon and teaspoon of vanilla in the sugar/butter mix. You can also change out your “butter” but remember that texture changes and btw, butter is better for you than margarine!
