Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival


This weekend is the Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival at Historic Long Branch in Clarke County, 830 Long Branch Lane, Routes 624 & 626, Millwood, VA This is a great festival if you are in the Winchester Shenandoah Valley area. This year lots of added fun treats for the family. A great way to spend a beautiful autumn day. Here is the info from the VA web:

“A fun-filled celebration packed with excitement for all ages. Held amidst the brilliant fall foliage of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains the skies are bursting with colorful hot air balloons as they glide above the splendid Shenandoah Valley. The Hot Air Balloon & Pumpkin Glow kicks off the event Friday illuminating the dusk skies surrounding the mansion. Saturday & Sunday view 30+ Hot Air Balloons, including special shapes, as they fly morning & evening (weather permitting). Wine Connoisseurs will enjoy vintages from more than 17 Virginia Wineries. Sunrise to sunset activities include; artisans & crafters, antique cars & fire engines, children’s amphitheatre & activities, live entertainment, mansion tours, great festival foods & so much more! Located 10 miles E of Winchester, 65 miles W of DC off Rt. 50 on Rt. 624.”

    Oh Joan,This sounds like a wonderful time. Makes me wish we were out there more all the time. Of course after living out here on the prairie EVRYTHING is a drive. My husband is always up for wine tasting and he loves flight. Maybe one day we can make something like this.
